Technology Brief
Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) is a kind of atomic emission spectroscopy. It uses a high-energy focused pulsed laser beam to excite the surface of the sample, and the generated atomic spectrum is analyzed by algorithm to obtain the corresponding element composition and content. It is a fast, qualitative and quantitative industrial analysis method.
With the development of miniaturization technology of lasers and spectrometers, portable hand-held LIBS spectrometers have become a reality. Its advantage lies in the ability to bring sophisticated analytical instruments to the first line of production, which are mainly used for on-site brand identification of iron-based, aluminum-based, copper-based, nickel-based and other metal alloy materials and rapid identification of alloy material element content.
The handheld LIBS spectrometer can monitor the production process at high speed and efficiently, improve the quality management system of the enterprise, and increase the production efficiency. It is an indispensable link in the industrial production process.
Application
Industrial production (Fabrication) and accurate material identification (Positive Material Identification, PMI)
For example, it can quickly identify stainless steel grades, including the most common 304, 316, 316Ti and 321.
It can quickly identify all kinds of aluminum alloys, including all major types of aluminum alloys from 1 to 7 series, such as aluminum alloys such as 6061 and 6063.
Recycling and Sorting
As the proportion of recycled and recycled raw materials used in the metallurgical industry is increasing year by year, the handheld LIBS spectrometer can screen the recycled materials for customers before purchasing, sorting and smelting, and reconfirm the brand number before leaving the factory, in the production and sales links Provide effective guarantee, improve its quality management system, reduce error rate, reduce cost and improve efficiency.
Trading
In various metal trading markets, both parties use hand-held LIBS spectrometers to quickly identify the stainless steel, aluminum alloy, and copper alloy grades and quantitatively detect the main components on site, so as to avoid losses caused by substandard materials.
Product Introduction
Class 3B laser
We use safe laser technology based on high-energy pulses, and there is no ionizing radiation hazard from fluorescent instruments (XRF). The laser is no longer collimated after converging through the optical path, and it will not harm the eyes during normal use. Reliable pulsed lasers have a long life, generally up to a million times or more.
Laser safety switch
The safety switch on the head of the hand-held LIBS spectrometer is carefully designed. The panel must be close to the surface of the object to be tested before the laser can be turned on for testing, so as to avoid misoperation and trigger the laser. Optional mechanical and photosensitive safety switches can be adapted to flat, curved and debris-like objects to be measured.
Fast
The software is highly integrated, one-button operation, a single test time is extremely fast, the test result can be displayed in 1 second, even the massive inventory can be easily handled.
Exquisite and compact body
The weight of our handheld LIBS spectrometer (with battery) is only 1.25 kg, which is lighter than most handheld metal spectrometers on the market. Small size, balanced center of gravity, ergonomic requirements, suitable for long-term handheld use.

Top industrial design
Fully enclosed enclosure (IP54) is waterproof and dustproof. The high-strength body is made of aluminum alloy material, which is strong and wear-resistant and has good heat dissipation effect. It is suitable for outdoor operation and harsh industrial application environment, and is suitable for long-term handheld operation. The high-capacity lithium battery pack can last a whole day. The instrument does not have any fragile and vulnerable parts, and is more reliable than traditional fluorescence spectrometers. Users can use it for a long time with very low maintenance costs.

Safety |
Without any ionizing radiation, 3B eye safety laser. |
X photoionizing radiation, safety protection should be paid attention to when using, and the operator should go to work after strict training. |
Detection speed |
The equipment is ready to use and easy to operate. The alloy grade and element content can be obtained in 1 second. |
The equipment needs a long time to warm up, the alloy grade can be displayed after 1~3 seconds, and the element content can be displayed after 15~30 seconds. |
Use and maintenance costs |
There are no vulnerable parts, the service life of core components exceeds one million tests, and the maintenance cost in normal use is extremely low. |
X-ray tubes and fluorescence detectors are both consumable and vulnerable parts, which are expensive to replace. |
Analyzable elements |
Covering almost all metal elements, it can be used for grade and composition identification of various heavy and light alloys. |
Mainly for the identification of heavy metal elements, not as good as stainless steel and alloy steel, but cannot test alloys such as aluminum alloy. |
The handheld LIBS spectrometer is a new type of rapid alloy detection analyzer, which is comparable to or surpasses the handheld XRF alloy analyzer in terms of parameter performance and application fields. However, it has higher cost performance in terms of product price, use cost and maintenance cost, and in terms of safety, it is far more than XRF alloy analyzer. The purchase and use cost of Jiebo products is far lower than similar equipment, and it has been increasingly Many companies are included in the procurement plan.
